Junior Umpires

Camberwell Sharks runs a Junior Umpires program for 13  to 16 year olds for juniors registered as players, ex players or have a family member associated with the Camberwell Sharks.

An application does not guarantee a place on the roster, however if successful the junior umpires umpire Under 8’s, 9’s & 10’s.

The program reports through to the Umpire Coordinator who will provide training pre-season & mentoring on game days through our Umpire Mentoring Program.

New umpires will be allocated a mentor at each game who will “run with” them until they are confident enough and qualified to umpire solo.  

The Goal is to develop our juniors in a role they would not have the opportunity to elsewhere, to develop confidence & develop decision making.

Finally they must have fun.
